New Seminarians/Parliament of the World's Religions
Hosts: Graziano Marcheschi and Wayne Magdiarz. The First half of the show features two men who will be entering Mundelein Seminary this fall throught the INSEARCH program. Bob Regan went to Northern illinois University and is currently living at St. Alexander's in Palos Heights to gain experience in a parish setting before entering Mundelein Seminary this fall. Bob worked in the newspaper industry as a reporter and in sales. Julio Lamb-Salazar was born and raised in Cuba and is trained as a medical doctor. He defected to the United Sates after World Youth Day in Toronto. He recently finished a residency at Stroger Hospital specializing in Emergency Room Medicine. Julio's parents still reside in Cuba and he recently visited them after becoming an American citizen. Julio is now living at St. Alphonsus parish on the north side before entering Mundelein Seminary this fall. The second half of the show is about the Parliament of the World's Religions. Racial Justice/Apparition

Kelly Hall YMCA/Grief Counseling
Our guest for the first half hour is Fr. Bob Lombardo, a Franciscan Friar of the Renewal. He established the our Lady of the Angels Mission in the former rectory and is seen as the catalyst behind the kelly hall YMCA in the West Humboldt Park neighborhood. Kelly Hall YMCA evolved out of the combined efforts of the Archdiocese of Chicago, the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago, and the Greater Chicago Food Depository. This is Father Bob's baby and he is very passionate about how such a project can positively influence an underprivileged neighborhood. Our second half-hour will focus on helping children deal with grief. Our in-studio guest is Lauri Olbrisch, vice president of Rainbows, the largest international non-profit charity dedicated exclusively to helping the world's children cope with grief associated with the loss of a parent through death, divorce, deployment or incarceration. This special edition of Catholic Community of Faith, hosted by Tom Sheridan, editor of the Catholic New World, features the latest response to the June 30, 2006 announcement from the Congregation of Holy Cross, Indiana Province, that they will no longer sponsor Notre Dame High School for Boys in Niles. Dr. Nicholas M. Wolsonovich, Superintendent of Schools for the Archdiocese of Chicago, is joined by Notre Dame Advisory Board Chairman, Joseph Gurdak, and Advisory Board members Peter Newell and Paula Waters, in a discussion about the efforts already underway to work with all interested parties to assure that the school continues its mission to educate young men. Interested Notre Dame High School parents and alumni are also included with their call-in comments and questions. Phyllis Cavallone-Jurek, principal of St. Therese Chinese Catholic School, invites listeners to attend the children’s performance at the Taste of Chicago's Taste of Talent Youth Competition on Friday, July 7, at 11:42 a.m. in Grant Park. The dancers, among only 24 finalists, will perform an authentic Chinese ribbon and fan dance that celebrates the joys and excitement of summer.
